Today we have a guest post from the author of indibikes – Daryl Chew. He just came back from his Japan trip and we have him sharing the bike culture he experienced over there.
Daryl: So here’s a bike from Japan that has piqued my interest recently. (I know I know I’ve been very interested in Japanese bikes since my return from Tokyo) But something about its clean, classic, yet modern look just draws me to it and I’ve been stalking their online store and other images of their bikes on Flickr the last few days. You can view the Flickr account here! Veryyyy tempted to buy one now (they ship worldwide!)
From their online store, they mentioned that what they sought out to do from the start was to make “simple handmade products whose aesthetic is classic yet modern and most importantly timeless” and the aesthetic they try to attain is summarized as “beautiful in its simplicity, a simplicity that has taken a lifetime to perfect”. Boy have they been true to their word!
Check out the first photo which is a print ad from Tommy Hilfiger that features a Kinfolk bike and as you know I have a love for bike and designer collaborations (though this is not a true collaboration) so this really made me very excited.
Super in love with their bikes and did you notice the leather bound handlebars? Just looking at the photo is simply to dieee for!
Anyway, if you’re in love with Kinfolk now as much as I am and would like to make a purchase (Don’t forget they do worldwide shipping!), you can view their online store here and pleaseee let me know if any of you make an order. I’d like to take a look at this bike first hand and take some stalker shots of my own!
Daryl will be heading to Pedal Like a Dog ITT series. Do catch him there.:D
